Aviator in Kenya: how to play, what it really pays, and where

127,000 Kenyans a month search for plain 'aviator'. Most of them want three things: a working demo, a bookmaker that pays M-Pesa fast, and a straight answer on the tax. All three are below.

Open any Kenyan bookmaker's home page and Aviator is there in the top bar, usually with its own icon, often ahead of the jackpot. No other country has put the game that close to the front door. Betika did it first in 2021, Pepeta built an entire brand on it, and now SportPesa, Odibets, Shabiki, WinPesa, Betway, Mozzart and the rest all carry the same Spribe game, licensed by the BCLB and paid for with M-Pesa.

What follows is the Kenya version of our global Aviator page: same game, same 97% RTP, but with shillings, paybills, two taxes and seven bookmakers you can actually use.

Try the Aviator demo first

Official Aviator demo by Spribe. Play money only. If it does not load in your region, use the demo mode inside any casino listed below.

This is Spribe's own demo, the same build the Kenyan bookmakers run, with play money. Spend twenty rounds in it before you deposit anything. Count how many rounds end under 1.50x. Then count how many end under 1.10x. The second number is the one that decides whether a KSh 10-at-a-time session lasts an evening or ten minutes.

The demo hides one thing: the live bets panel is empty. On Betika on a Saturday night it is a wall of 500 names, most of them cashing out between 1.2x and 2x and a few riding to 20x for the screenshot. That panel tells you nothing about the next round. It is good company, though.

Where to play Aviator in Kenya

Every bookmaker below holds a BCLB licence, runs the official Spribe Aviator, and takes M-Pesa. We have deposited and withdrawn at all of them. The order is ours: it weighs deposit speed, how quickly M-Pesa withdrawals land, how often the site falls over on a busy evening, and how the Aviator promos actually work in practice.

Betika leads because it is the one that never makes you think. Paybill deposit, balance updates in seconds, Aviator one tap away under Casino, withdrawal back to M-Pesa in a few minutes most of the time. Pepeta is second because the whole site is Aviator and it shows; the game loads faster there than anywhere else. Odibets earns its place for people on 2G or an old Tecno, because the site is tiny and the game still runs. SportPesa is the old guard and reliable, but the extra step of moving chips into a casino wallet catches new players out every single time.

How to play Aviator with KSh examples

If you have placed a Betika jackpot bet, you can play Aviator. The stake sizes are the same.

  1. Open Aviator from the bookmaker's menu. On most Kenyan sites it is a top-bar item or the first tile under Casino. Our bookmaker pages below give the exact path for each one.
  2. Type a stake in the bet panel. KSh 10 is the typical minimum and the amount most Kenyans play. Tap Bet before the countdown bar empties; there is a five-second window between rounds.
  3. Watch the multiplier. It starts at 1.00x and climbs, slowly at first and then faster. The plane can leave at any moment, including at 1.00x, which happens in roughly 3 rounds out of 100.
  4. Cash out. Tap the orange button or let auto cash-out do it at a multiplier you set in advance. KSh 10 cashed out at 2.00x pays KSh 20 before withholding tax, KSh 18 after it.
  5. Or lose the stake. If the plane goes before you tap, the KSh 10 is gone and the next round starts in a few seconds.

A worked session at Betika-style numbers: you enter KSh 100, the slip shows KSh 86.96 staked after excise, you set auto cash-out at 2.00x. The plane reaches 2x in about 48.5% of rounds. When it does, the gross payout is KSh 173.91, the net win is KSh 86.96, withholding takes KSh 17.39, and KSh 156.52 lands in your balance. When it does not, you are down the full KSh 100. Across a long evening those two outcomes average out to a loss of a few shillings per round. That is the house edge plus the taxes doing exactly what they are designed to do.

The two bet panels are worth using once you are comfortable. Most regulars run one panel on auto cash-out at 1.30x to 1.50x and leave the other to ride. It feels safer. Mathematically it is two independent bets with the same edge, so it smooths the ride without changing the destination.

Deposits and withdrawals with M-Pesa

M-Pesa is the reason Aviator works in Kenya. The deposit is faster than the round.

Depositing from inside the site or app. Tap Deposit, enter an amount (KSh 10 to KSh 50 minimum depending on the brand), tap Confirm. An M-Pesa prompt appears on your phone within a few seconds asking for your PIN. Enter it and the balance updates. This is the method we use; there is nothing to type wrong.

Depositing with the paybill manually. Open M-Pesa, Lipa na M-Pesa, Pay Bill. Enter the bookmaker's paybill number, which is printed on its deposit page and in its footer. Account number is normally your registered phone number, occasionally your account ID. Enter the amount and your PIN. Keep the confirmation SMS until the balance updates.

We deliberately do not print paybill numbers on this site. Bookmakers change them, and a wrong paybill from an old article is how people lose deposits. Take the number from the bookmaker's own deposit page, every time. If someone sends you a paybill on WhatsApp "for the Aviator bonus", it is a scam. There is no bonus paybill. There never has been.

Withdrawing. Tap Withdraw, enter an amount, confirm. At Betika, Odibets, SportPesa and Pepeta the money is usually on your M-Pesa within minutes. Betway and 1xBet have taken longer in our logs, sometimes a couple of hours. Every brand sends the withdrawal to the Safaricom number on the account, so you cannot send it elsewhere, which is a feature. Minimum withdrawals run KSh 50 to KSh 100. Note that M-Pesa's own transaction charges apply on the way out.

Airtel Money works at most of the bigger brands through the same flow. Bank cards exist at Betway and 1xBet, and nobody uses them.

The tax, worked through on KSh 1,000

Kenya taxes a bet twice and the bookmaker collects both. The numbers below are how the main operators present it on the slip; a few lay it out slightly differently, but the money is the same.

Worked example of Kenyan excise and withholding tax on a KSh 1,000 Aviator stake

Step one: excise duty, 5% of the deposit. Until mid-2025 Kenya charged 15% excise on every stake. The Finance Act 2025 replaced that with 5% excise on the money you deposit. You send KSh 1,000 by M-Pesa, KSh 50 goes to the KRA, KSh 950 lands in your balance. Stake the lot on one round and KSh 950 is on the plane.

Step two: the round. Say you cash out at 2.00x. Gross payout: KSh 1,900.

Step three: withholding tax, 20% of the net win. Net win is the payout minus the stake: KSh 1,900 minus KSh 950, which is KSh 950. Withholding tax is KSh 190. You receive KSh 1,900 minus KSh 190, which is KSh 1,710.

So KSh 1,000 that "doubled" returns KSh 1,710. Your real profit on a winning 2x round is KSh 710, not KSh 1,000. On a losing round you lose the full KSh 1,000. Work that through at Aviator's 48.5% chance of reaching 2x and the expected return per KSh 1,000 deposited and staked is about KSh 829, against KSh 970 at the game's own 97% RTP with no tax. The taxes cost you more than the game does.

Two things follow. First, chase lower multipliers less than you think: the tax is proportional, so it does not favour any particular target. Second, be honest with yourself about what "I'm up KSh 500" means after an evening where KSh 3,000 passed through the slip. The excise has already taken KSh 150 of that at the deposit stage. Both taxes are remitted by the bookmaker to the KRA; there is no return for you to file and no way to claim anything back.

The BCLB licence check

Every legal bookmaker in Kenya is licensed by the Betting Control and Licensing Board and must show the licence number on its site, normally in the footer next to the 18+ mark. Checking takes thirty seconds and is worth doing before every first deposit:

  1. Scroll to the footer of the bookmaker's site. Look for "Licensed by BCLB" and a licence number in the format of a four-digit number, often with the licence year.
  2. Cross-check the brand against the BCLB's published list of licensed operators, which the board updates when licences are issued, renewed or revoked. The list is on the BCLB website under licensing.
  3. Check the domain. Licensed Kenyan bookmakers run on .co.ke or .com domains that match the brand name. A "Betika Aviator bonus" site on a .xyz domain is not Betika.

Offshore sites that skip the licence also skip the taxes, and some advertise that openly. The trade is that you have no regulator to go to when a withdrawal stalls, and your deposit is leaving the country through a payment aggregator that the BCLB has no power over. We only list licensed brands and we would rather pay the 20%.

Pick your bookmaker

Each of these has its own page with the exact menu path to Aviator, the registration and login flow, M-Pesa minimums, the type of promo it runs and how its withdrawals have behaved for us.

Three phones side by side showing where the Aviator link sits on Kenyan bookmaker menus

  • Betika Aviator: the biggest, the most searched, and the one with Aviator pinned in the top bar. Friday free-bet drops.
  • Pepeta Aviator: the Aviator-first bookmaker. Fastest game load in Kenya and the most Aviator-specific promos.
  • Odibets Aviator: the site that works on 2G. Regular Aviator free bets and the lightest pages of the group.
  • Shabiki Aviator: Aviator and the Shabiki jackpot cross-promoted. Simple, clean, few distractions.
  • SportPesa Aviator: the original Kenyan bookmaker. KSh 1 minimum, casino wallet step to learn, Aviator Rain promo.
  • WinPesa Aviator: small bookmaker, KSh 5 stakes, pushes Aviator hard.
  • Betway Aviator: the international brand. Also the only one here with JetX and Spaceman next to Aviator.

Betfalme, a smaller bookmaker that also runs Aviator and that a few thousand Kenyans search for each month, holds a licence too. We have not played there enough to review it, so it is not on the list yet.

The app, the login page and the predictor

Three searches sit right next to "aviator" in Kenya and all three deserve an honest answer rather than a download button.

Aviator app and APK. There is no official Aviator app. Spribe does not make one. Betika, SportPesa, Betway and Odibets have apps that include it, and the mobile sites run it fine in Chrome or Opera Mini. The "Aviator APK" files on download sites are casino apps at best and malware at worst. That page also untangles "pakakumi aviator apk", which is two different things glued together by a search box.

Aviator login. There is no Aviator account. You log in to Betika, Pepeta, Odibets or whichever bookmaker you use, with your phone number and password, and open the game from inside. The login page walks through each one and the SMS reset flow.

Aviator predictor. Does not exist, cannot exist, and the people selling "signals" on WhatsApp for KSh 500 know it. The page explains the maths and the con.

RTP and odds, briefly

Spribe fixes Aviator's RTP at 97% and the bookmaker cannot touch it. Roughly 3% of rounds end at 1.00x before anyone can cash out; the remaining rounds follow a curve where the chance of reaching a multiplier is about 97% divided by that multiplier. So 2x is reached about 48.5% of the time, 5x about 19.4%, 10x about 9.7%. The full table and the maths behind it are on our global Aviator page and in how crash games work.

In Kenya, put the 5% and 20% on top of that 3% and you have the real picture. No multiplier is better than another once tax is applied; they all lose at the same rate, just at different speeds.

Strategy, in one paragraph

Decide your cash-out target before you deposit and set auto cash-out to it, because thumb reaction time at 2x is the biggest leak in casual play. Stake 1% to 2% of what you brought: KSh 10 rounds on a KSh 500 session. Set a stop-loss and, harder, a stop-win, and withdraw to M-Pesa the moment you hit either. Ignore the history strip; the last ten rounds do not affect the next one. Martingale at KSh 10 reaches KSh 10,240 after ten doubles and a ten-loss run at 2x happens about once every 1,400 rounds, which is roughly one busy weekend. Our crash game strategy guide has the longer version, but none of it beats the RTP, and nothing beats the taxes.

Aviator rounds last ten seconds and M-Pesa deposits take five. That combination is why the BCLB publishes a helpline and why we repeat this on every Kenya page: play with money that is already spent in your head, and if it stops being fun, call 1199. 18+ only.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum stake for Aviator in Kenya?

It depends on the bookmaker. SportPesa and betPawa take KSh 1, WinPesa KSh 5, Betika and most of the others KSh 10. The maximum per bet panel is typically KSh 10,000 to KSh 20,000. Whatever you deposit, 5% excise comes off it before it reaches your balance, and the round starts.

How do I deposit for Aviator with M-Pesa?

Either use the Deposit button inside the bookmaker's site or app, which sends an M-Pesa prompt to your phone for your PIN, or go to Lipa na M-Pesa, Pay Bill, enter the bookmaker's paybill number from its deposit page, your phone number as the account, the amount, and your PIN. Funds normally show within a minute.

Is Aviator legal in Kenya?

Yes. It is offered as a casino game by bookmakers licensed by the Betting Control and Licensing Board. Spribe, the maker, is certified for the Kenyan market. You need to be 18 and registered with your ID number. Offshore sites without a BCLB licence also target Kenyans; we do not list those.

How much tax is charged on Aviator winnings in Kenya?

20% withholding tax on the net win, deducted by the bookmaker before the money reaches your balance, plus 5% excise duty (since the Finance Act 2025; it was 15% on stakes before) on each deposit. On a KSh 100 bet cashed out at 2x you receive about KSh 156.52, not KSh 200. The worked example on this page shows the full calculation.

Which is the best Aviator site in Kenya?

For deposit speed and reliability, Betika. For a site built around the game, Pepeta. For a weak connection, Odibets. For the lowest stake, SportPesa or betPawa at KSh 1. The game itself is identical everywhere because Spribe serves it, so pick on the things that differ: payments, promos and how fast support answers.

Does Aviator have an app in Kenya?

There is no official Aviator app. Spribe does not publish one. Betika, SportPesa, Betway and Odibets have apps that include Aviator in their casino section, and every bookmaker's mobile site runs the game in Chrome or Opera. Anything called 'Aviator APK' from outside Google Play is a risk. Our Kenya app page explains the options.

Is there an Aviator predictor that works?

No. Each round's crash point is generated from a server seed and three player seeds and hashed before the plane moves. There is no way to read it in advance. The predictor apps and Telegram signal sellers that target Kenyans are selling random guesses, phishing for your Betika login, or pushing a referral link. See our Kenya predictor page for the detail.

What is the best time to play Aviator in Kenya?

There is no best time. The crash point of each round is independent of the previous one and of the clock, so a Sunday morning round has the same distribution as a Friday night one. The only thing that changes by time of day is how busy M-Pesa and the bookmaker's servers are, which affects deposit speed, not results.
